Deal Or Dud?

It's the Volere Backpack, and its makers say it's the solar panel solution that'll get your personal gadgets fully charged.
Adam Connie's got the weight of the world on his shoulders, and he’s got to get it to you on time.

Adam is a bicycle messenger.

“I've delivered food, I've dropped off Blockbuster videos, I do a lot of court runs and bank deposits,” he admitted. “It’s fast-paced. Boom, boom boom, you finish there and go somewhere else.”

Which leaves little room for mistakes. What’s the worst one he can make?

“If I don't charge that Nextel, I'm losing money,” Adam said. “I start losing money as soon as I drop the job and have to waste time coming back to dispatch to let them know who signed for the package.”

That's why we asked Adam to trade in his favorite messenger bag for the Volere Solar Panel backpack.

For about $100, it uses the power of the sun to charge your personal electronic equipment.

It also comes with a variety of adapters for the right fit.

We followed Adam around on a typical day.

The Solar Panel Backpack was able to maintain the charge on Adam’s iPod, even though it was running the whole time we were testing.

Also it charged his cell phone, which was not in use.

The Volere backpack was able to boost the charge and keep Adam in constant communication all day long.

“I think it's a deal,” Adam said. “You’re going to get to the next outlet, but in between you won't have any down time on your electronics.”

The Volere backpack won't charge items as quickly as a traditional electrical outlet, and the adapters didn't fit some of our older electronic equipment.

But it certainly will keep you connected - it even works in certain interior room light.

The Volere backpack is available only online. Click the link below to visit the site!
