Richland Chambers up about a foot

Our lake level is now about 4 1/2 ft low. Water temps are around the mid to upper 50’s.

A few crappie are being caught in 4 to 12ft of water close to the banks. they should be moving to the banks on our next warm up.

Catfish doing good fishing windy banks in shallow water using shad or stink bait. If no wind fish around timber 10 to 15ft deep. Not many people jug fishing but it should be good fishing in 12 to 18ft of water with cut bait or live perch. Also the upper chambers and Richland arms are doing while the recent rain is still flowing in.

Black bass are getting much better with the water warming up. Most being caught 2 to 6ft deep around heavy cover. Best baits have been spinner baits and rattling baits. Also a few on watermelon lizards. Some were being caught on beds before this last cool spell so with a good warm up they should be back.

Our lake level is now 1 inch above being 5ft low. Water temps are around the mid 50’s.

Not much on Crappie yet. Maybe with the warm up coming this week they will move to the banks by the weekend.

Sand bass have been fair being caught off points and humps 20 to28ft deep. Best baits have been tail spinners or slabs. Not many birds to mark them but they will be near any birds sitting on the water.

Last Chance for Crappie on Richland Chambers

This is normaly the last month to stock up on Crappie here on Richland Chambers Reservoir until they move back up the creeks around Feb. or Mar. Once we get our first good cold front in October they vanish for a couple of months. Water temp upper 70’s lake level 2ft 10in low.

Right now they are catching some good size Crappie Mostly on minnows and a few jigs. Most are fishing 15 to 28ft of water around the timber. The Crappie are suspending down 7 to about 18ft deep depending on the time of day and wind speed.

Not much surfacing of Sand Bass lately but they are catching them trolling around points in 18 to 26ft of water. They are also catching some fishing  slabs or Humdingers off the bottom on and around humps 20 to 25ft deep.

Right now most Catfish being caught are smaller channels. Bigger cats and Blue Cats will show as our water Cools. Most of the catfish being caught are coming on shad or  punch bait in 12 to 16ft of water.

Black bass have been bitting but are running small . Lots have been coming out of the grass on top waters and Spinner Baits in 4 to 10ft of water. also pitching plastics around boat houses and brush.

Richland Chambers lake level over 1 1/2 low

Richland Chambers reservoir is now over 1ft 6in low. Fishing is still good over all just not many people fishing. It’s been in the 100’s all week but we have had a little wind. Water temp is in the upper 80’s. pClick Here!

Sand Bass are mainly being caught deep up in the day. There is some surfacing mainly early in the day. The better catches are coming out of 20 to 28ft of water around humps or points trolling or jigging spoons, 3/4oz Humdingers or slabs in these areas. 

Crappie have been good being caught around the timber in 15 to 30 ft of water. If you can stand the heat the best catches are coming mid day. They are suspending down 7 to 18ft deep depending on the time of day, wind and sun light. Most are being caught on minnows with some coming on jigs.

Richland Chambers Reservoir Lake Level

 The Lake level on Richland Chambers Today is 3/4 of a foot above normal. the water temp is from the mid 60’s to upper 60’s. Water is somewhat stained but not bad. Gates are open so fishing is a little off. Danny King’s Catfish Bait Spinner Baits Fishing GPS units Other Catfish Baits We still Have some Good size Black Bass up shallow Spawing. Most being caught on watermelon seed lizards and also spinner baits. 6in to 4ft of water has been the best depth with several in the 5 to 7lb range. Crappie are still being caught shallow right against the bank. Mostly coming on minnows but jigs are also working. They should start moving out any day now to their summer pattern. Catfish are great on rod&reel fishing shallow windy banks shallow with shad or Danny King’s Bait If no wind fish 10 to 15ft around standing timber. Jug lines doing good in 12 to 18ft of water baited with live perch. Sand Bass are good in 20 to 25ft of water on slabs or tailspinners. Mainly being caught around humps or points. Also some good catches trolling in these areas.

Richland Chambers Fishing Report

Richland Chambers Reservoir lake level is a couple of inches above normal. The water is fairly clear and temp is running in the lower 60’s. Overall fishing is good.

Vintage fishing reels, Spinner baits, Vintage lures, Fish Finders, and Catfish Bait

 Black bass are good and should be for the next several days. Lots of good size bedding fish right now. Several in the 7lb range plus 3 we know of over 9lbs. They are being caught shallow on spinner baits and Texas rig lizards. No real good color pattern at this time.

Catfish Doing good on jug lines baited with live perch or shad in 10 to 15ft of water. Yellow cats good on trotlines using live perch. Rod & reelers doing good fishing windy banks 1 to 4ft deep using shad or punch bait mainly Danny King’s.

Crappie are back up creeks in shallow water bitting minnows  mainly late afternoon and early night.

Sand bass fair around windy points & humps in 15 to 25ft of water. Most being caught on Slabs & Tail Spinners.
