Using Orbitz for airline
travel, car rental or hotels and motels is the best way to price your next trip
and it's easy. We will be providing tips and information on using Orbitz. So if

First purchase a few weeks
ahead of time. On most of these services 2 weeks is plenty. Airline prices seem
to move up and down like the stock market. If you know a month or two ahead of
time when you are traveling start pricing the flights you want but don't
purchase them right away. If you'll notice prices can change daily from airline
to airline. This is because rising or falling fuel cost and other operating
expenses can have a big impact on ticket prices. Also heavy demand for tickets
can drive the prices up or low demand can lower them. If you start pricing your
ticket a month or more ahead of time and the price drops 10% or more buy it.
However watch the times of the flights. Some airlines really drop their prices
when all they have left are flights that arrive at midnight or later. If this doesn't
matter to you than you may get some great last minute deals.
Another great thing about Orbitz is that you get to pick a window or aisle seat. Also after you purchase your ticket and get a confirmation (usually in minutes) they give the actual seat number.
If the days of your trip can be moved around try pricing mid week or Saturday flights. This can save you 10 to 20% on some flights. Remember you can price all you want it's free and easy.
If plan to travel a lot or just a few times a year get the Orbitz card from Juniper.com. We have tried several rewards programs and this card is one of the easiest and fastest to get them. Watch for the cards that say you get a mile for every dollar you spend like the AAdvantage. I don't how they can get away with saying that on TV. It takes several thousand more points on their card to get what you can get with the Orbitz card.
If you think you can get cheaper tickets directly from the airlines or their web sites, try it and you will be surprised. Not using Orbitz can cost you 20 to 50% more. Sure they run specials from time to time but it never seems to be where or when I'm going.
